The BMW e34 5-Series was initially produced as a four-door-coupe. That's right a 4 door coupe. Not too long ago there was such a thing as a four-door-coupe. Today, the four door coupe is making a comeback with the introduction of the Mercedes-Benz CLS. Many people are arguing the fact that coupes have two-doors, and sedans have four-doors. Like the BMW e34, a four door coupes are aerodynamically designed like a coupe, the car just has four doors.
Back in the E34 era, BMW had plans to build the convertible version of the popular M5 model. Engineers from Motorsport had indeed developed such a vehicle, with two lengthened front doors and four seats, which was very close to production.
All the preparations were made: the price was set at 50,000 GBP and there was even a space booked for the Geneva motor show. Unfortunately, one week before its expected debut, BMW backed out. Why? Because they believed its release would have increased the demand for non-M5 Series convertibles, making the 3 Series sales.
The crew at TeamSpeed.com released some photos of what the E34 M5 Convertible might have looked like, had it gone into production ( PS: The ZS stands for BMW Individual ).

vienā jēlā amerikas filmā tādu redzēju( nebija gan kabrio,bet coupe)! tad jau reāli eksitē, tik uz pirkstiem saskaitīt var! iespējmas kāds ticis uzbūvēts kādā tūninga firmā!

Fiziski kā prototips eksistē, bet tāds ražots netika. Ja mēs tādus skaitītu pie "bija tāda E34 kupeja", tad jāuzskaita būtu arī visi E23 touringi (Alpina), E12 kupeja, E28 universālis, E31 kabriolets utt. u.t.jpr.
